Every Choice Function Is Pro-Con Rationalizable

چکیده
Dogan and Yildiz introduce analyze the pro-con model that is inspired by Franklin’s prudential algebra. Consider an agent who endowed with two sets of orderings: pro- con-orderings. For each choice set, if alternative top-ranked a pro-ordering (con-ordering), then this pro (con) for choosing alternative. The more pros than cons chosen from set. Each ordering may have weight reflecting its salience. In case, probability equals difference between total weights cons. Although, additive similar to random utility structurally invariant primitives, authors show every (random) function rational. Their technique requires generalization Ford-Fulkerson theorem. connection deterministic counterpart demonstrates fruitful use classical integer programming techniques in theory.

Every choice correspondence is backwards-induction rationalizable
We extend the result from Bossert and Sprumont (2013) that every single-valued choice function is backwards-induction rationalizable via strict preferences to the case of choice correspondences via weak preferences. JEL Classification Numbers: C72; D70
متن کاملRAS Blockade for Every Diabetic Patient: Pro and Con
The first part of this manuscript offers an overview of clinical data supporting the use of renin-angiotensin system (RAS) inhibitors in every patient with type 1 or type 2 diabetes, based on the known role of the RAS in blood pressure regulation and organ protection. In the second part, a possible, relevant role of drugs other than RAS-active compounds in treating hypertension and preventing c...
متن کاملSequentially Rationalizable Choice
Cyclical choice is persistently observed in experimental evidence. It typically occurs in simple decision problems (involving only binary comparisons and few alternatives) and in significant proportions, sometimes nearing or even exceeding 50 percent. This is obviously incompatible with the classical model of ratio nal choice, in which choice is constructed as the maximizer of a single prefere...

متن کاملSet-rationalizable choice and self-stability
Rationalizability and similar notions of consistency have proved to be highly problematic in the context of social choice, as witnessed by a range of impossibility results, among which Arrow’s is the most prominent. We propose to rationalize choice functions by preference relations over sets of alternatives (set-rationalizability) and introduce two consistency conditions, α̂ and γ̂, which are def...
